Upon close examination, this agate displays almost every phenomenon of agate formation that exists. The open pockets are lined with chalcedony that is covered in small quartz crystals. To see a shape that looks like a comet with a tail was the inspiration for it's chosen name. Many agates display "galaxy" like formations but seldom do you see a comet.
